David Cain

David has worked within the field of employment and diversity for 10 years. Throughout Sussex he has helped businesses of all sizes, and from all sectors, to develop positive disability and diversity action plans and policies.
David is a thoroughly accomplished trainer and communicator. He has designed and delivered training modules, seminars and workshops on a wide variety of issues that are relevant to disability and employment. He has conducted extensive research into the business costs of mental ill health and employment.
David has featured in the Guardian and on the BBC and local radio and media highlighting issues around employment and mental health.
He is an ambassador for Time to Change in Sussex and has pledged to challenge stigma and discrimination against mental health.
David is currently chair of the Synchronise West Sussex employer engagment forum. He is also a member of the UK Rehabilitation Council .
He has also worked with the Department of Works and Pensions, providing support to socially excluded groups. He managed the Government's Access to Work centre that provided grants to support disabled people in employment.
David is passionate about achieving diversity and social inclusion both within the local economy and society at large. He is a member of the Royal Economic Society and holds a M.A in European Studies.
